Ant's Nest

Overview

With its relaxed, African atmosphere, Ant’s Nest lies in a natural amphitheater around a busy waterhole, frequented by a wide variety of game. Lying on a private game reserve in the Waterberg, this original, colonial homestead comprises of a Main Lodge, accommodating 12 guests in six classic en-suite bedrooms, each with its own private verandah superbly positioned to maximise on game viewing opportunities - don’t be surprised to have a rhino grazing 10 meters from your pool lounger.

In addition to the Main Lodge, Ant’s Nest has a range of suites and lodges available, including the Sable Suite and the Weaver Suite, both of which are spacious, deluxe suites which feature king size beds, mini-bars with tea and coffee making facilities and a private verandah for viewing the surrounding valleys and wildlife. The Sable Suite is perfect for families, while the Weaver Suite makes an ideal location for honeymoons.

Complete with a heated swimming pool in the garden, extensive lawns with indigenous plants around the pool and a wonderful thatched chill-out zone with its sofa beds, Ant's Nest caters for all ages and can be booked individually or exclusively.

Holidays at Ant’s Nest are highly flexible. The host, who is a descendant of the area’s first pioneers has lived in the Waterberg for the entirety of her life and will provide a holiday tailored to your preferences. The extensive range of activities on offer are not bound to set times or itineraries, giving you the freedom to do the activities you desire when it suits you.

The activities on offer include mountain biking and morning games, but the speciality is the range of safaris that are available. The horseback safari’s (for which first time riders will be taught how to ride) are particularly popular and are strongly recommended, but there are also guided walks and drives for those who aren’t eager to go horse riding. There is a diverse range of animals often sighted on the safaris including giraffes, zebras and rhinos, creating a truly remarkable experience for anyone who visits.
