You will find Hartford House just outside Mooi River in the rolling hills of the Natal Midlands and there can't be many more beautiful spots to stay in South Africa. The old manor house is made up of open public areas, with the unique rooms tucked away ensuring the utmost privacy. Many people will have a few days here just as a gourmet retreat and it really does offer some of the best food anywhere in South Africa, including it's acclaimed restaurants. What makes Hartford such a wonderful place to stay is you feel really really at home here, with many visitors choosing to spend a whole day in-house relaxing. The views are breathtaking and it has it's own stud farm and lovely walking trails. Equally, it offers easy access to the Midlands Meander and Drakensberg Mountains, so you really can do as much or as little as you like here.

Hartford House is made up of 15 rooms, all at varying price points so it can be used for most itineraries. The rooms are all very unique, with beautiful furnishings and stunning views out onto the gardens. The Lake View Suites are a particular favourite of ours, with the best views and are superbly furnished. Whichever room you choose you will not be disappointed and they make for a great spot to while away a lazy afternoon.
