Set in the forest on the edge of Lake St Lucia, Makakatana combines rustic yet comfortable accommodation with a great choice of activities, including boat trips on the lake and traditional game drives in the surrounding game reserves. There is a very laid back feel to a stay here, with guests able to pick and choose the activities they do, or simply sit back and enjoy the laid back surroundings of the lodge.
Makakatana is a perfect destination if you are looking to enjoy some game viewing along with some time exploring the St Lucia Wetlands. The lodge has a laid back yet luxurious feel to it and the charming staff will make you feel right at home.

All meals are served in house, with guests being offered a variety of dining options during their stay, including al fresco lunches out on the beach. If you are doing a full day safari then the lodge will pack a picnic for you to allow you to make the most of the day.
With just 5 Suites, 1 Honeymoon Suite and 2 Family Suites, Makakatana retains a fantastic feeling of privacy and personal service, even when the lodge is full. Suites have their own private game viewing decks (where private dining can be arranged if needed), outdoor showers and private mini-bars for your convenience.
Children are accepted from 8 an upwards. Activities are well suited to children and the Suites can accommodate 1 extra child in each room.
