Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp
Perched enticingly on the rim of the Crater, Sanctuary Ngorongoro Camp is one of the best tented camps in the area, with lovely tents and open sided public areas where you can relax and enjoy the warm hospitality and fantastic food for which Sanctuary Camps are known.
Of course, the main reasons for visiting the crater are the views and the game viewing and this camp really ticks the boxes on both counts. The view down to the caldera from the camp is stunning and the proximity of the nearby access road means that you can get down onto the crater floor well before many other vehicles meaning you get time to yourself to explore the crater floor - a rare treat and one much appreciated by visitors.
The tents are classically styled, with spacious bedroom areas and very good bathrooms with indoor bucket showers and flush loos. The small sitting areas in front of the tents are a lovely place to relax and enjoy your morning coffee before heading out on your game drive. Constant electricity is available in the suites which is always appreciated.
A really good option for the crater, well located, superbly run and a great stop on any Northern Tanzania Safari.
