Located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free standing mountain, and deep in Masailand, Shu'Mata Camp enjoys spectacular views. Due to its remote location and the fact that it has just five tents the camp is able to offer an exclusive experience away from the busy parks of northern Tanzania.
The area is part of the Amboseli ecosystem, famous for its large herds of elephants and other game you may encounter here includes zebra, wildebeest, cheetah and lion.
The camp also offers the opportunity to take a fascinating naturalist walk with Masai guides and those who do not want to take the week long climb of Mount Kilimanjaro can get a taste of it on a day trip to the Shira Plateau including a hike through heath and moor with wonderful views of Africa tallest mountain.
- Extensive lounge tent
- Dining area
The camp has just five comfortable, romantic tents reflecting the bygone days of a Hemingway style safari as well as local culture through the use of Masai art.

The camp accepts children of all ages but note that there are no specific children's activities and Shu'Mata is more suited to couples.
