Samburu Game Reserve: Home to the elegant Samburu tribesmen and noted for the rare reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra, Samburu is dry, mainly scrub desert with a few low rugged hills, and lies alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Laikipia: Neighbouring Mount Kenya and made up of large private concessionary areas and Samburu tribal lands, Laikipia is a plateau area where, uniquely in East Africa, wildlife numbers are actually increasing. The Ewaso Nyiro River dissects the plateau, famed for it’s wild dog population.
