Ngorongoro Crater
A phenomenon of dramatic proportions, the Ngorongoro Crater is 20-kilometre wide extinct volcanic caldera, the world’s largest, which has ‘trapped’ thousands of animals and offers excellent game viewing opportunities. Lying close to the Olduvai Gorge, guests enjoy driving down the 500m deep crater sides each morning to view the numerous species which reside on the crater floor. A number of lodges lie high up on the rim of the crater and enjoy spectacular views and easy access to the wonders below.
