The Sunday Times: Kenya Bush & Beach
Day 1: |
Overnight flight to Nairobi. |
Day 2-4: |
onwards flight to the Masai Mara, where you will be transferred to Elephant Pepper Camp for a 3 night stay. On the northern edge of the Mara with its amazing game experience lies this eight tented bush camp, with accommodation which includes a tented dressing room and bush showers. Campfires and star-gazing make the nights almost as memorable as the days, with the cries of a hyena in the distance common. Called after the Warburgia Ugandense tree – the Elephant Pepper – it is as authentic as the bush that surrounds it. |
Day 5-8: |
onward transfer and flight to Mombasa, for a 4 night stay at Kinondo Kwetu. Kinondo Kwetu is often described as a “home away from home” – a paradise for those wanting a more personal experience on the Kenyan coast. Located on a tranquil quiet beach south of Diani, distanced from residential neighbours by rocky cliffs and endless beach, Kinondo Kwetu is designated as a protected area due to its surrounding holy forests and sacred land. There are a maximum of 28 guests at any one time, housed in a selection of rooms and cottages, all furnished with Swahili antiques and handicrafts. In addition to relaxing in the sun and swimming in the Indian Ocean, guests can choose from an impressive selection of exciting activities, ranging from kite-surfing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving to horse riding and yoga. |
