Oddballs Camp is located deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp has a lovely, rustic feel which allows you to experience the tranquillity of the area while gazing over the vast sweep of the Delta as the sun sets over the water.
Botswana sells itself as Africa’s most expensive safari destination, but this is the one property which bucks this trend. It is remarkable value for money, particularly as every set of guests has their own dedicated guide. Families are welcome and the only negative is that it tends to get fully booked well in advance, so the advice is definitely to book your stay here as early as possible.
The guest areas at Oddballs’ have comfortable seating and even hammocks in a small, sandy “beach” and several raised viewing decks that overlook the sweep of the Delta – the perfect vantage point from which to watch the sun set over the palms and view whatever wildlife may be visiting.
Delicious freshly prepared meals are enjoyed in the central dining area each day in between activities.
Accommodation at Oddballs Camp is in one of 15 simple but comfortable 3 metre x 3 metre canvas rooms positioned on elevated wooden platforms with a small outdoor seating area. Your beds have crisp linen and fluffy duvets with towels provided. Inside each tent is a small solar light and handy hooks, canvas pockets and a trunk for storage. Your private bathroom facilities have an outdoor bucket shower with solar heated water and flush toilets.
Activities focus on offering guests a water-based experience and led by professional and knowledgeable guides who will accompany guests on all game activities. Activities are conducted by your own professional guide (a maximum of two guests per guide); a man who was born in the area and who lives in the local community.
Children of all ages are welcome and the camp has a family platform with two tents next to the guest areas for family comfort and security.
