Desert Rhino Camp

Overview

Desert Rhino Camp is in the vast Palmwag concession, an area of flat topped mountains, rocky hills and plains in the ruggedly beautiful Damaraland region.

The area is home to the largest free roaming population of black rhino in Africa and the chance to track these desert adapted animals on foot is a highlight of a stay here. This arid area supports a surprising amount of other game too including zebra, giraffe, springbok and elephant and, if you are lucky, you may see a rare desert lion.

This intimate camp has just eight tents with an open sided lounge and dining tent and a plunge pool to help you cool down in the heat of the day.

Run in conjunction with the Save the Rhino Trust a stay at Desert Rhino Camp not only offers a great safari experience but also contributes to the preservation of these endangered animals.
