Bom Bom Island Resort

An epic journey it may be, but it is absolutely worth it. The resort sits between rainforest-covered hills and has two stunning beaches, on which turtles nest, and off which whales swim. The 21 comfortable en-suite bungalows have views of the gardens, swimming pool or sea, with the beachfront ones just metres from the sand.

If you can tear yourself away from the beach at Bom Bom, there are plenty of activities on offer, including treks through rainforests to see the huge variety of bird species; whale watching, big game fishing, diving and snorkelling, as well as visits to Príncipe's atmospheric capital San Antonio or the many run down but romantic colonial farmsteads known as rocas.
