Bale Mountain Lodge

Overview

Conveniently set in the beautiful and remote Harrena Forest in the heart of Bale Mountains National Park, this rustic lodge is rural Ethiopia's finest. The spacious, thoughtfully designed rooms are all adorned with locally sourced furnishings to reflect the Ethiopian culture and style. Each room has a wood burning stove, providing a warm atmosphere to your stay. The windows in the thatched dining rooms offer amazing sweeping views over the mountain range below and each room has its own deck for viewing wildlife.

Much of the lodge's appeal lies in its location. Nestled into the hillside so as to minimise the visual effect on the area, the property offers unique access to Bale Mountains National Park and its 1,367 square miles of mountains, forests, and plateaus. No stay at the lodge is complete without a trip to Sanetti Plateau, where you'll be able to see the endemic Ethiopian wolf.
