Cascade Island Lodge

Overview

Only 70km upstream from Victoria Falls, Cascade Island Lodge consists of intricate floating walkways that link a cluster of islands within the Mambova rapids where the mighty Zambezi and Chobe Rivers converge. Each private suite is utterly luxurious and features secluded river frontage and private splash pools - Cascade Island Lodge is simply made for honeymooners and romantics. Meander the waterways with your personal guide and private boat and explore quiet backwaters or take in an exclusive Chobe sunset cruise. Guests with a thirst for adventure can pursue the famed tiger fish on a private fishing expedition whereas others will just want to enjoy the wonderful sense of peace and calm on the river. You can also enjoy game viewing cruises along the legendary Chobe River, exceptional bird watching, guided nature walks, cultural visits, canoe excursions and day trips to Victoria Falls. All activities are flexible and can be arranged to fit your needs and schedule - nothing is too much trouble at Cascade Island Lodge.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

There are just four rooms at Cascade Island Lodge, although the term ‘room’ does not do them justice. They are vast suites with outdoor showers, day beds, and plunge pools. The added bonus is that every guest has their own private guide and boat in which to enjoy the fascinating surrounds. Try staying here in addition to, rather than instead of, Chobe.

Find a book to read in the small reference library and head for Cascade's sophisticated lounge or under the trees of the outdoor sitting area. Alternatively, simply sit on one of the viewing decks and watch the secrets of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers unfold before you.

Cascade Island Lodge prides itself on its excellent and varied cuisine. Watch the chefs at work in the theatre-style kitchen and dine at your private table with views of the water. Order your drinks from the bar and choose a wine to accompany your dinner from the walk-in wine cellar. Private river bank picnics, candle-lit dinners on your private deck and intimate meals on deserted islands can all be arranged.

There are only four, ultra-luxurious suites at Cascade Island Lodge, each with its own private plunge pool and wooden deck with private sala and swing chairs over the river – an unforgettable place to spend a lazy afternoon. The en suite bathroom is enormous with his and hers basins, an indoor and outdoor shower and decadent stone bathtub. Two simpler rooms for accompanying guides or staff are available.
