Mara House

Whether you are travelling to Kenya as a couple, a group of friends or a family, a private house is a great way to enjoy your safari experience.

Mara House is located in a wildlife conservancy adjacent to the main Masai Mara National Reserve and, as such, there are fewer lodges and vehicles so you can experience the excellent game viewing without the crowds.  Staying in Mara House takes this more intimate safari to the next level as there is no set schedule.  If you fancy a lie in and a leisurely breakfast or want to go out all day with a picnic lunch on the reserve, it's up to you.  Your private guide will take you on day and night game drives and the chance to walk this land with a Maasai guide should not be missed.

Our Thoughts

What better way is there to enjoy a safari with your family or a small group of friends than by having your own African home?  At Mara House you will have a superlative, private safari experience at your desired pace.

  • Swimming pool (shared with the neighbouring safari house)
  • Private staff
  • Guide and game viewing vehicle

The flexibility of having your own private bush home means that what, where and when you eat are up to you. The dedicated staff are on hand to prepare and serve delicious, freshly made meals.

Mara House has three bedrooms all of which are ensuite and feature wooden furniture and natural colours to reflect the house's heritage and setting.

  • Game drives
  • Night drives
  • Walking safaris
  • Local village visits

Mara House is perfect for families and accepts children of all ages. They have three family houses - Acacia, Mara and Topi, and have staff to fully cater to you. You’ll have your own private vehicle and guide, and will fascinate the kids with bush-wise facts, games, local customs and magical tales of life in the wilderness.
