Selinda Adventure Trail

Overview

A truly unique and wonderful way to experience one of Botswana’s finest reserves, the Selinda Adventure Trail operates between April and September offering up to eight guests the chance to explore this area on foot and, water levels permitting, by canoe along the Selinda spillway.   However you travel, the 5 day/4 night trip will ensure an unforgettable experience as your expert guides take you along the waterways and into the woodlands in search of game including large herds of buffalo and elephant, roan antelope, lion and wild dog not to mention the prolific and varied birdlife.

You will sleep in comfortable 3m x 2.4m tents, with bedrolls and quality linen, at temporary pre-arranged sites along the spillway.  Bucket showers with hot and cold water are supplied and the camp staff are on hand to cook and put up the tents.  If you are canoeing you can expect to cover about 40kms over the five days and about 20kms if travelling by foot.  Bring a sense of adventure and prepare for a safari to remember.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

The Selinda Adventure Trail is an incredible experience.  Whether you have a purely walking safari or if water levels allow exploration by canoe, the trail gets you close to nature in a pristine wilderness area.

Breakfast and dinners are served in camp with food cooked on the campfire, whilst lunches and snacks will keep you sustained through the day while you take a break from paddling or walking.

Guests are accommodated in basic yet comfortable camping tents which are set up and broken down by camp staff each day.  Rustic and comfortable but in keeping with the adventurous nature of the trip.  Each site has bucket showers and long drop loo.

Depending on water levels in the spillway you will explore either on foot or by combination of canoeing and walking.

The minimum recommended age is 14 but for families with children aged 10-13 a private, tailormade trail can be arranged.
