Overnight flight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg on British Airways.
Early morning arrival and connecting flight to Lusaka. Transfer to your light aircraft flight to Mfuwe near the South Luangwa National Park where you will be met and taken to Nkwali for a three night stay. Set on the banks of the Luangwa River and overlooking the park, Nkwali was once home to the legendary guide Robin Pope. His safari company still owns and runs the camp that has just six thatched chalets providing rustic luxury with views of the river and open air ensuite bathrooms. The park features diverse habitats from woodland, groves of ebony trees, grassland and oxbow lagoons that play host to a wide variety of wildlife including superb leopard viewing, lions, wild dogs, elephants herds and large numbers of hippo.
Today you will be taken to Tena Tena, viewing some of the park’s many animals on the way. You will stay for three nights in this tented camp which is sheltered in a grove of mahogany trees in the exclusive Nsefu sector of the park. The five tents provide guests with privacy and comfortable sitting areas looking out over the river with even the open air bathrooms enjoying a view of this wild piece of Africa. The game viewing from here is superb, with the guides some of Zambia’s finest. As well as game drives Tena Tena offers the chance to take a walking safari – an exhilarating and unforgettable experience.
You will be taken to Mfuwe to fly to the Lower Zambezi National Park. You will be met and taken to Chongwe River Camp for a three night stay. This superb bush camp is situated on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, and offers accommodation in large tented chalets, built under thatch, with luxury open-air en-suite bathrooms and commanding fabulous views over the waters. Exceptional game viewing opportunities are available, either by open safari vehicle, on foot or by canoe and motorboat. The park offers a superb safari experience with diverse activities and a wealth of animal and birdlife including lions, leopards, elephants, herds of buffalo and pods of hippos in the river and surrounding channels.
You will be taken to the airstrip for your early morning light aircraft flight to Lusaka. Connect to your flight to Johannesburg and overnight British Airways flight to London Heathrow.
