When planning a holiday to South Africa, known as ‘a world in one country’, it can sometimes be difficult to choose where to start. This 15-night itinerary provides you with a snapshot of what this amazing country has to offer. Starting with an exciting safari in the Kruger National Park and then embarking on a self-drive tour along the picturesque Garden Route, venturing onwards to explore the winelands of Franschhoek before ending your holiday with a few nights in the vibrant city of Cape Town.

Depart London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival in Johannesburg, you connect with your onward flight to Hoedspruit, the gateway to the Kruger National Park. You will be met and transferred to stay for two nights at Thornybush Game Lodge. Enjoy a true African bush experience in this five-star lodge, located adjacent to the Kruger National Park and renowned for its accommodation and true African bush experience. Particularly welcoming for families, each of its 20 spacious suites has its own private deck from which guests can enjoy some of the wildlife, which is in abundance here with nearly 150 species of mammals, 34 species of amphibians, and over 500 species of bird.
You return to Hoedspruit for your flight to Port Elizabeth, flying via Johannesburg. On arrival, collect your hire car and make your way to Plettenberg Bay where you spend three nights at The Robberg Beach Lodge. Ideally located right on the beach, The Robberg Beach Lodge is perfect for getting the sand between your toes, but Plettenberg Bay has so may great activities to enjoy including whale watching, golfing, walking with and interacting with elephants.
Continue along the Garden Route to the ostrich baron town of Oudtshoorn where you spend two nights at Rosenhof Country House, a magnificent Victorian homestead with its yellowwood beams and ceilings. A world of activities await, including a visit to Africa’s largest show caves, Cango Caves, ostrich farms, meerkat adventures and hot air ballooning.
Today you drive into the Franschhoek wine region to stay for two nights in the heart of the valley at Franschhoek Country House and Villas. Located on the outskirts of this quaint village, this country house is ideally placed to explore and indulge in the multitude of restaurants and vineyards in Franschhoek. If you prefer a more adventurous stay, why not try a wine tasting tour on horseback, or take a picnic and tour this magical valley by bicycle?
Make your way into Cape Town to spend four nights on the slopes of Table Mountain at the historic Four Rosmead Boutique Guesthouse. This incredible guest house has spectacular views of Table Mountain, Lions Head, Signal Hill, Table Bay and the city itself. Kloof Street, well known for its fantastic restaurants and café’s is within walking distance, and the V & A Waterfront either just a bit further, or if you prefer, a quick 10 minute drive.
After a morning at leisure, make your way to the airport, arriving in time to drop off your hire car and check in for your scheduled overnight flight to the UK.
