Discover the best of Zimbabwe on this exciting trip which reveals the country’s natural beauty and spectacular wildlife. After marvelling at the sight of the Victoria Falls, or “The Smoke that Thunders”, travel to Hwange, Zimbabwe’s largest national park, where you may encounter herds of elephants and buffalos, prides of lions and cheetahs stalking the plains on guided game drives and walks. Lake Kariba is one of the world’s largest man-made lakes with opportunities for boating and fishing in addition to land based game viewing. Your final stop is the wilderness gem that is Mana Pools National Park with game rich floodplains and one of Africa’s finest areas for walking safaris.
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
On arrival connect to your flight to Victoria Falls. You will have a two night stay at Victoria Falls Safari Club which is conveniently located close to town and the Falls and overlooking the bush. This afternoon you will join a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River complete with drinks and snacks, a wonderful way to end the first day of your Zimbabwe holiday. The next morning you will join a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, taking in the spectacular vistas from the main viewpoints opposite the falls. The afternoon is at leisure for you to enjoy some of the optional activities on offer including the ever popular helicopter flights over the falls.
You will fly by light aircraft to Hwange, Zimbabwe’s largest national park. During your three night stay at The Hide Safari Camp you can take guided game drives and walks to explore the park and seek out its wildlife including herds of buffalo and elephant, sable and roan antelope and predators such as lions and cheetahs. You can also get up close views of the wildlife from the hides at the camp which overlook the waterhole that draws animals throughout the day.
Today you will fly by light aircraft to Lake Kariba for a two night stay at Changa Safari Camp. On the shores of the vast, man-made Lake Kariba, Changa provides seclusion and under canvas luxury while remaining in tune to its natural surroundings. With 4.5 kilometres of shoreline and access to Matusadona National Park, Changa is able to offer varied activities including game drives to search for elephant and buffalo, game walks to seek out the smaller creatures and track animals, fishing and boat trips on the lake. When not out exploring the bush and the lake, guests can relax back at the camp on their tent's private veranda, in the homely lounge or by the swimming pool looking out over the expanse of Lake Kariba.
A short flight today brings you to Mana Pools National Park, a beautiful wilderness area of woodland and floodplains of the Zambezi River. John’s Camp is a small, intimate camp with a traditional and authentic under canvas style. This is wonderful walking country so in addition to game drives the camp’s guides will take you out on walking safaris to explore the park on foot. The adventurous can spend an unforgettable night out under the stars on the star deck or camp out in the bush in a gauze dome tent.
You will fly to Harare today and connect to a flight to Johannesburg before flying overnight to London Heathrow.
Arrive at Heathrow this morning.
