The famous parks of Northern Tanzania – Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti – are justifiably popular but as they can get busy we have designed this itinerary to allow you to experience these areas while staying in more private and secluded camps. In addition, you have the chance to enjoy extra activities such as night drives and bush walks.
Accommodation includes: Little Chem Chem, Chem Chem Lodge, The Highlands and Mwiba Lodge
Overnight flight from Heathrow to Nairobi on Kenya Airways.
Morning arrival and connecting flight to Kilimanjaro where you will be met and taken by road to Little Chem Chem for a two night stay. Situated on a private concession between Tarangire and Manyara National Parks a stay at this six-tented camp allows easy access to Tarangire but also with the chance for big game viewing on their private land. As the camp is outside the national park additional activities such as night drives and walking safaris can also be enjoyed.
Today you will relocate to the western side of the concession on the edge of Lake Manyara. Stay for two nights at Chem Chem Lodge where you can take it easy with guided walks amongst giraffe, bush breakfasts, massages and sundowners by Lake Manyara.
Today you will be taken by road to The Highlands, set on the forested slopes of the Olmoti Crater to the north of the Ngorongoro Crater and far from the other camps and lodges in the area. A full day trip to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing on the crater floor is a must but the beauty of The Highlands is the remote location and the opportunity to take a nature walks on the slopes of the Olmoti Crater and also a hike to the bottom of the Empakaai Crater.
A flight from Lake Manyara airstrip takes you to Mwiba Lodge located on a vast private concession to the south the Serengeti National Park. Come between January and March to witness the huge herds of the wildebeest migration as they gather on the Serengeti’s plains to calve. The concession has excellent game viewing of resident game year round and night game drives and bush walks that are not permitted in the national park are part of the Mwiba experience. Cultural interactions with four local tribes including Masai and Hadzabe add another element to your safari and you may also just want to relax at the lodge which has a wonderfully tranquil location amongst massive stone boulders.
This afternoon fly to Kilimanjaro airport to board your KLM flight to Amsterdam (via Dar es Salaam).
Morning arrival and connecting flight to Heathrow.
