Can't decide between the bush or the beach? Why not combine the best of both worlds with this 11 night itinerary. All of this while staying at some of South Africa’s most luxurious accommodation will ensure that your trip is truly unforgettable.
Accommodation includes: Rhino Post Safari Lodge, Thonga Beach Lodge and Oyster Box Hotel
Depart London Heathrow on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival, connect with your flight to Skukuza Airport where you will be met and transferred by road to Rhino Post Safari Lodge for a three night stay on full board including game activities. Located on a private wilderness concession in the Kruger National Park, the lodge shares a boundary with the Mala Mala and Sabi Sand Reserves, which allows an abundance of wildlife to roam freely. The lodge was constructed to have minimal impact on the environment and is made from natural materials only. Accommodation consists of 8 suites, each of them luxuriously decorated and built using typical African and natural materials. In addition to game drives and walks, guests are also able to enjoy overnight sleep-outs on unique tree-top platforms – a truly unforgettable experience.
This morning you will be transferred to Kruger/Mpumalanga airport for a charter flight to Mazengwenya Airstrip. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Thonga Beach Lodge for a four night stay on full board. This remote beach lodge is set in a coastal dune forest with glorious views of the beach and luxurious accommodation. The spacious and airy suites all have private balconies and views over the ocean or the forest. A wide range of activities are available to guests including snorkelling, scuba-diving and swimming, sometimes with dolphins and whale sharks. The lodge is also close to Lake Sibaya, South Africa’s largest freshwater lake. Here, boat trips can be taken and superb bird watching enjoyed
After breakfast you will be transferred by road to Umhlanga Rocks. Enjoy the last three nights at the Oyster Box Hotel, on bed and breakfast. A near-perfect beach location right on the edge of the Indian Ocean, this classically-influenced hotel offers luxury and comfort in great style, and yet is just a five minute walk from the excellent boutiques, restaurants and bars of Umhlanga village. Each of the 86 rooms is the last word in comfort, but choose one with an ocean view so that you can enjoy being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. By day, enjoy everything the beach and sea has to offer including snorkelling, fishing and surfing, and by night luxuriate in the hotel’s restaurants and bars.
Depart Durban on a day flight to London Heathrow, arriving this evening.
