Overnight from London to Lusaka, via Johannesburg, with BA and South African Airways.
On arrival into Lusaka you will need to make your way to the Pro Flight desk and check-in for your flight up to Mfuwe. On arrival into Mfuwe you will be met by staff from Chinzombo who will transfer you to their lodge (about an hour with the chance for some game viewing along the way) for a 3 night stay. This is a truly stunning lodge, and a superb base from which to explore the renowned South Luangwa National Park. The lodge is set on the banks of the Luangwa River, so guests arrive at the lodge by boat and enjoy stunning river views from all parts of the property. The enormous bush villas retain a wild, colonial feel, with huge decking areas complete with private pool and sitting area. The game viewing here is fantastic, with Leopard sightings being particularly good. It is also one of the best places in Africa to enjoy walking safaris.
This morning you will be transferred back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight down to Lusaka and then connecting charter with Wilderness Air to the Kafue National Park and a 3 night stay at Shumba Camp. Shumba is the Parks’ premier offering, with the large tents the rival of any in East Africa. The camp comprises only six spacious luxury safari tents on raised platforms that lead onto large balconies with breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. All the elegantly decorated tents are en suite and include an indoor and outdoor shower. The remote location of the camp makes for excellent game viewing, especially for the endangered Wild Dog who are prevalent in the areas without Lion. We will also include an early morning Hot Air Balloon flight over the park - a stunning way to start any day.
You will be able to enjoy your morning game drive this morning before being transferred to the airstrip for your flight down to Livingstone. You will be met at the airport and transferred up to Toka Leya, where you will be spending the final 3 nights of your trip. Overlooking the Zambezi River and some of its islands, Toka Leya comprises of 12 raised, spacious en-suite safari-style tents. Tent interiors boast wooden flooring, tasteful African décor, climate-control, and an expansive wooden deck from which to soak up the views. Family units are positioned to offer quiet seclusion. From Toka Leya you will be able to relax, enjoy trips on the Zambezi and of course, visit the famous Victoria Falls.
After a morning at leisure you will be transferred from the lodge to Livingstone Airport for your flight to Johannesburg where you will have a short layover before your overnight flight back to London Heathrow.
Early morning arrival into London Heathrow.
