Depart London Heathrow on the direct overnight British Airways flight to Cape Town.

On arrival in Cape Town the group will be met and transferred to stay for nine nights on a bed & breakfast basis at the Table Bay Hotel.

Panoramic views either overlook the bay to Robben Island, prison home of South Africa's former president Nelson Mandela for the greatest part of his 27 years of political incarceration, or across the harbour to the majestic Table Mountain with its shifting table cloth and tumbling clouds. The superb restaurants & bar are complemented by an outdoor swimming pool, spa and a fitness centre, with the many attractions of the Waterfront right on the doorstep.

After checking-in the group will have the afternoon at leisure, offering the opportunity to explore the many attractions of this magical city.

Optional New Year's Eve Function: This evening will be one to remember as the group joins the Table Bay’s prestigious New Year’s Eve party. A full harvest table will be enjoyed in the Ballroom together with local wines, beers and soft drinks, followed by a glass of champagne as you watch the fireworks signify the start of 2020 in Cape Town. For those who want to continue the celebrations the group will be on the guest-list for the exclusive after-party.

Day 3Cape Town

The day is free before the group boards the Mirage, a 76-foot luxury catamaran, for an exclusive early evening cruise in the company of the former England captain, batting legend and now renowned broadcaster David Gower.

Heading out from the harbour and around the coast to some of the city’s exclusive beaches, the lucky few can stretch out and enjoy the spectacular scenery from the yacht’s ample double deck configuration, which features a vast saloon area & bar on the bridge deck level, and an expansive flybridge & second bar on the upper deck. 

Drinks and canapes will be served on board.


Day 4Franschhoek, Stellenbosch

Franschhoek, Stellenbosch

After breakfast the group will depart, in the company of cricketing legend and amateur wine-buff David Gower, into the stunning wine region, where the first stop will be the charming French Hugenout village of Franschhoek.

There will be a short guided tour of the Huguenot Memorial Museum & Huguenot Monument before there is a wine & cheese-tasting at the Franschhoek Cellar. Originally the co-operative wine producer for a community of local grape farmers, today it operates as a private cellar delivering a fantastic range of single variety wines and annually producing 560,000 cases. The wine-tasting will be enjoyed alongside a sampling of some of the region’s finest cheeses. 

There will be time to explore the shops & boutiques of this picturesque settlement before continuing onwards towards Stellenbosch and the Blaauwklippen Vineyards, one of the Western Cape’s oldest and most respected wine farms.

Rich in history and traditional Cape charm, the picturesque lawns in front of the 18th Century Manor House at Blaauwklippen provide a stunning setting. A cellar tour will allow the visitor to learn a little about the estate’s long standing history and traditions before a wine-tasting is enjoyed in the Tasting Room, where the wines, ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Malbec & Cabriolet can be sampled. A gourmet buffet lunch will then be served, with the magnificent views only adding to the experience.

Days 5-9Newlands Cricket Ground

The group will be transferred to the beautiful Newlands Cricket Ground for each day’s play, and will be hosted by David Gower in one of the exclusive Pavilion Suites. Welcome drinks and snacks, lunch and afternoon tea, as well as a complimentary bar throughout the day are included.

After the day’s play ends the group will be transferred back to the hotel.

On one of the evenings there will be an exclusive private event with drinks at the Table Bay Hotel, at which David Gower will be joined by the Telegraph’s cricketing correspondent Scyld Berry to discuss the day’s play, to share some favourite cricketing anecdotes, and to answer some of the group’s questions.

Day 10Cape Town

Cape Town

Today is a day at leisure to explore the city – perhaps board the ferry across to iconic Robben Island, take the cableway up to Table Mountain, or enjoy a helicopter flip over the city?

The day is free to enjoy some last-minute shopping or sightseeing before the group travels to Cape Town airport to depart on the direct overnight British Airways flight to the UK.
