Pom Pom is a safari traditionalists dream, nestled in the heart of the Delta overlooking a permanent lagoon which offers a stunning backdrop to the lodge throughout the year. With just 9 suites including a family tent, there is a fantastic feeling of privacy within the lodge, with the superb staff helping to create a warm, cosy, home away from home feeling. Your days will be spent exploring this lovely corner of the Delta on game viewing vehicles, by Mokoro Canoe, motorboat or on foot. Birding enthusiasts will want to spend some time in camp to spot the resident Giant Eagle Owls and potentially the rare Pel's Fishing Owl which are often seen nearby. When not enjoying the extraordinary wildlife you will be fed and entertained to your heart's content, enjoying the superb food, a Cognac by the campfire and the stories of the staff on their life living in the bush.
A small, cozy camp in the heart of the Delta, Pom Pom really does offer a home away from home in Africa's premier safari destination. The permanent water around the camp means a great range of activities are offered, including year round Mokoro trips and fishing. The food here is an absolute delight, with dinners around the campfire very welcome after a long day exploring the bush.
The dining area at Pom Pom is in the thatched main building and meals are a real highlight of a stay here. The safari chefs prepare imaginative, delicious meals for you and the dining area is a great place to share stories of your day exploring the bush.
The 9 rooms are Pom Pom are all large, walk-in canvas safari tents constructed in traditional style and offer lovely views out over the lagoon. They have open air bathrooms at the back of them and separate covered lounge areas at the front of them which can also be used for private dining. One of the rooms is a larger family tent for families with children 8 and older.
Children aged 8 and older are welcome at Pom Pom and there is 1 family tent.
