Somalisa has just seven tents and has upgraded the standard of the accommodation while still maintaining the high level of guiding and hosting that it has become renowned for. Hwange may be famous for its large numbers of elephants but there are many other species here including buffaloes, sable antelope and lions and the camp’s expert guides reveal the beauty of Hwange on game drives and walks.
An authentic yet luxurious tented safari experience. Elephants often drink from the swimming pool, just yards from watching guests, and if the owner Beks Ndlovu is in camp you are in for a real treat – he is one of Zimbabwe’s best guides.
The camp’s main area includes a dining area, a lounge with comfy chairs and sofas and expansive decking with a splash pool, all overlooking the waterhole allowing you to relax while enjoying close up game viewing.
The lodge takes pride in offering delicious cuisine prepared in traditional style, balancing organic & seasonal produce with gourmet dishes. Their meals are inspired by the Far East, Europe and Africa. A choice of South African and Australian wines are available.
The camp has just seven tents, all elegantly furnished with beautiful bathrooms complete with free standing copper baths and both indoor and outdoor showers.
Activities include guided walks game drives and spot lighting as well as game viewing from hides. All are led by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you.
The camp is generally not recommended for children under seven years old. Sister camp Somalisa Acacia is family friendly.
