What better job than showing off what the Cape has to offer? I started guiding last year and the experience has been amazing. Generally, the roads are good in South Africa and self driving easy however if you want to truly relax and enjoy the scenery and not worry about traffic, a guided tour in and around Cape Town is the way to go. Visit Cape Point and the Winelands, taste many amazing wines, sample great food and return to your hotel relaxed, ready for the next day.
What is your favourite place in Africa?
Cape Town of course. I am a Capetonian! This city has it all, the majestic Table Mountain, the coastline, Robben Island in the distance, the vineyards a short drive away. You will also find amazing restaurants and the best steakhouses are here in Cape Town!
What is your most memorable experience in Africa?
After years in the shipping safety industry, finally changing career to become a tour guide! A dream come true. Every day is different and I meet interesting people from all over other the world.
Where would you like to visit next and why?
Namibia. I was there during the South African Border War in the 1980’s when Namibia was then South West Africa. I am interested to see this country from a different perspective.
What's your best advice for someone travelling to Africa?
See as much as you can. South Africa is a big country and you will need to come back to see every corner. Cape Town is a must! And the game parks.
