Set in the rolling hills of the Natal Midlands, Granny Mouse is the perfect base for starting a tour of KwaZulu-Natal. The spacious rooms are set around the main lodge, separated by manicured lawns and gardens. Inside the rooms you will find an open fireplace, perfect for relaxing in front of with a glass of wine in the evenings, and stunning views out to the hills of the Midlands. The main lodge houses the fantastic restaurant offering a menu inspired by locally sourced ingredients. There is a small spa on site as well so you can be pampered after a day enjoying some of the many activities the Midlands has to offer.
A wonderful place to spend a few days to start a KwaZulu-Natal tour. The traditional homely feel, excellent food and wealth of activities on offer makes this a real favourite of ours.
The Bistro provides a laid back venue for lunches and dinners. Simple, well done home cooking is the order of the day here, with favourites such as Lamb Shank, Beef Fillet Medallions and locally caught Midlands Trout being perennial favourites.
The Eaves fine dining restaurant offers a 5 course tasting menu paired with South African Wines, enjoyed in the wonderful dining room with it’s stunning views out across the Midlands.
Rooms are split into Garden Rooms (with Garden Views), Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe Suites, both of which have river views. All rooms have baths, showers and are very spacious. Deluxe rooms and suites have lovely open fireplaces, and all rooms have their own private balcony with garden or river views.
Families are welcome and well catered for at Granny Mouse. It is a great base for the family friendly activities of the Midlands.
