A true holiday retreat, set in a private nature reserve between the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Indian Ocean.
There is never a dull moment as the lodge can organise a plethora of pastimes including skydiving, snorkelling, fly-fishing, river trips, forest walks, golf and whale-watching. The daring can even try the highest bungee jump in the world. Food at Hog Hollow is delicious, using locally grown and sourced ingredients where possible, while the picnic baskets are legendary.
One of our favourites on the Garden Route. Very well run, a convivial atmosphere exists, with communal dining the norm. Families or groups of friends should rush to book the private Villa – which offers three bedrooms, lounge, decks and a swimming pool.
The large dining room table is the focus of the Main House. The dining experience starts in the Boma for Canapes and drinks under the stars before heading into the Main House for dinner. For those who prefer private dining, this can easily be arranged in a variety of areas throughout the property.
The 16 suites are all spaciously set out throughout the lodge, and are sumptuously furnished, with their own minibars, their own private wooden decking areas and a selection of homemade treats for you to enjoy during your stay.
A great option for families. In addition to the spacious suites, there is a 3 Bedroom Villa with it’s own private swimming pool – a fantastic treat. Children are always treated as important guests here and menus and activities can be tailored to them. There is also a baby-sitting service offered if parents want to get away and enjoy an evening in Plettenberg Bay during their stay.
