Often overlooked on the northern Tanzania safari circuit due to the more well known areas of Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, Tarangire National Park is a beautifully unspoilt area of grasslands, floodplains and huge baobab trees. Due to their remote location in the south-eastern reaches of the park Oliver's Camp and its smaller, sister camp Little Oliver's allow you to get away from the crowds and fully appreciate this pristine wilderness.
The design and atmosphere of the camps evoke the classic safari experience with wooden furniture and comfy chairs in the lounge tent and the traditionally styled tents provide bush luxury in harmony with their natural surroundings. The camps are able to offer activities beyond the usual game drives including off road and night drives (complete with night vision goggles!) and the opportunity to head out on foot with an expert walking guide, a fascinating and sometimes exhilarating way to explore the park.
For those looking for an authentic safari in a remote location Oliver's and Little Oliver's will immerse you in Tarangire's wilderness. More adventurous guests can enjoy a true bush experience on a fly camping excursion, sleeping out in the wild in a dome tent.
Meals are served either in the dining tent or under the Tarangire sky.
The main camp has ten traditionally styled tents under thatch offering down to earth bush luxury including a spacious outdoor shower. The neighbouring sister camp Little Oliver's has just five tents for a more private and intimate experience.
Oliver's Camp welcomes children aged six and over. There is a family tent and the guides will educate and entertain children with bush skills and folklore.
