Sarili Lodge

Overview

High above the Bushmans River overlooking the great plains, this lodge is named after a famed Xhosa chieftain of the 18th-century.

While it is located on ancient land, the lodge is as contemporary as today with its four luxury rooms and one suite, which makes it ideal for exclusive hire, or for a family group. Shamwari prides itself on preserving a vanishing way of life, and it boasts five eco-systems waiting to be explored, which support a multitude of plant, animal and birdlife.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

A small lodge with just five rooms, which is often taken over exclusively by a group of friends or a family. Children have their own programme and the swimming pool is heated; a novelty in this part of the country.

  • Heated swimming pool
  • Lounge with satellite TV
  • Deck overlooking the Bushmans River
  • Indoor and outdoor dining facilities

Depending on weather, meals are either taken inside in the main lodge or in the outdoor dining area. In addition to Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, guests will be treated to a huge Afternoon Tea each day before heading out on their afternoon safari.

Just 5 rooms in total make up Sarili Lodge making it perfect for families, especially those with children as 2 of the Luxury Rooms lead on to one another. Under floor heating make them a comfortable option for the winter.

  • Twice daily game drives
  • Guided bush walks

Sarili is one of the 2 family friendly lodges at Shamwari and perfect for family groups. Activities can be tailored depending on the ages and interests of the children in the group. The heated swimming pool is always appreciated by families and the lounge area with TV helps keep children entertained when not on safari.

Activities include a variety of outdoor excursions including the Born Free Foundation's Big Cat centre and the Animal Rehabilitation Centre.

Indoor activities include:

  • Scrap books, paper, scissors, glue crayons, pencils & paints
  • Puzzles of varying sizes and difficulties covering a broad age range
  • Documentary DVD’s on various conservation topics and animals, animated movies
  • A selection of entertaining and educational children’s books
  • A selection of fun board games

Children younger than 4 are not permitted on game activities.

A babysitter can be arranged at an additional cost if necessary.
