Itinerary Overview

Tracking mountain gorillas and chimpanzees are undoubtedly highlights of a trip to Uganda but this itinerary also gives you the opportunity for a more traditional safari seeking out Africa’s big game such as elephants, lions, buffaloes and hippos.

Overnight flight from Heathrow to Entebbe on Kenya Airways via Nairobi.

Day 2Protea Hotel Entebbe

Protea Hotel Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Protea Hotel Entebbe where you will overnight.

Days 3-4Primate Lodge, Kibale National Park

Primate Lodge, Kibale National Park

After breakfast you will be met and transferred to the airport for a scheduled flight to Kasese Airstrip. On arrival you will be taken to Kibale National Park, known as a primate paradise due to the variety and concentration of species such as chimpanzees and red colobus monkeys that are found here. You will spend the next two nights at Primate Lodge in the heart of Kibale rainforest National Park. During your stay you will have one chimpanzee tracking experience.

Days 5-6Elephant Plains Lodge, Queen Elizabeth National Park

Elephant Plains Lodge, Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast you will drive to south to the Queen Elizabeth National Park alongside the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. You will spend the next two nights at Elephant Plains Lodge which has spectacular views over the open grasslands to Lake George.

Day 7Ishasha Wilderness Camp, Queen Elizabeth National Park

Ishasha Wilderness Camp, Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning you will drive to the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the famous tree climbing lions. It is a beautiful route with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side and the green valley on the left. You will spend the night at Ishasha Wilderness Camp, an exclusive tented camp located in an unspoilt remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Days 8-10Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi National Park

Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi National Park

After a morning game drive you will head further south to Bwindi National Park, home of the majestic mountain gorillas. You will spend the next three nights at Mahogany Springs, located on the pristine waters of the Munyaga River and facing the Bwindi Impenetrable forest. During your stay you will have one gorilla tracking experience.

Morning at leisure before an afternoon flight back to Entebbe. You will fly back to London Heathrow via Amsterdam
