Camp Kipwe

Located close to its sister property Mowani Mountain Camp, Camp Kipwe is also nestled amongst large granite boulders.

The main areas and the rooms are are built around the rocks with rough hewn wooden furniture giving a natural, organic feel that complements the rugged, rocky surroundings.

Camp Kipwe is a relaxed camp with a rustic charm that is a good base for visiting the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein as well as the unusual geological formations and desert adapted wildlife that are found in this scenically beautiful part of Damaraland.

Our Thoughts

A lovely camp with a tranquil setting amongst the rocks.

  • Lounge
  • Bar
  • Curio shop
  • Dining room
  • Small swimming pool

The camp has an open sided dining room and also a boma for dinner under the stars. Sundowner drinks can be enjoyed at an elevated viewpoint behind the camp.

There are nine rooms and one suite. The rooms are rounded with open bathrooms, decks shaded by rough branches and are simply but comfortably furnished. The suite provides more luxury with a private lounge and satellite television.

  • Nature drives
  • Twyfelfontein rock engravings

Children of all ages are accepted at Kipwe but there are no specific children's facilities or activities. Note that only children under the age of 12 can share a room with adults.
