Okaukuejo Camp

Overview

Okaukuejo Camp is a very popular stop for self drivers exploring Etosha. The camp is close to the Andersson Gate and in close proximity to the western edge of the park's vast salt pan. There are numerous waterholes in the area where you can sit for as long as you like watching a variety of animals come and go. However the waterhole at the camp itself attracts so much game, including black rhino, that you need not even venture into the park. A floodlight allows the game viewing to continue after dark.

With just over 100 rooms the camp is relatively large but it does have a number of convenient facilities including a shop, fuel station and a swimming pool.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

A large, busy lodge but worth staying at due to the very productive waterhole and handy location.

  • Floodlit waterhole
  • Restaurant; Bar
  • Swimming pool
  • Shop
  • Fuel station

The 102 rooms range from simple but comfortable double rooms to better bush chalets with a lounge area and waterhole chalets closer to the waterhole.  The two storey, two bedroomed premier waterhole chalets are closer still and have a lounge and patio.

  • Guided game drives, including night drives
  • Self drive safaris.

Children of all ages are accepted at the camp and there is a children's swimming pool.
