Overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg on British Airways
Morning arrival. You will be met and taken to the Federal Air lounge where you will be able to relax before your light aircraft flight to your first safari lodge. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which shares an open border with the Kruger National Park, is home to arguably South Africa’s best game viewing. The density of animals here is outstanding and first time safari-goers marvel at close up views of zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, rhinos and more. The reserve is renowned for the frequency of sightings of one of the most elusive of animals, the leopard. Stay at Simbambili Game Lodge for three nights where you can relax in luxurious surroundings (each suite has its own plunge pool) in between morning and afternoon game drives on open vehicles led by expert guides. There is also the chance to take a bush walk to see the little things like insects and plants that you miss from a vehicle.
Fly by light aircraft to the Phinda Game Reserve in the south-east of the country for a three night stay at &Beyond Phinda Mountain Lodge. The reserve has seven distinct habitats and the varied terrain of grasslands, woodlands, marshes and mountains is home to a diverse range of species. In addition to the big game animals such as elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards that people might expect to see on safari Phinda is also home to cheetah and black rhino as well as nyala and suni antelope. Mountain Lodge has stunning views, wonderfully luxurious suites and delightful staff to ensure you have an unforgettable stay. Of course, you are here for the safari and the lodge’s passionate guides really make your experience, sharing their vast knowledge of all aspects of the bush from insects and trees to birds and animals, both big and small.
After a final game drive this morning you will fly to Johannesburg and take an overnight flight to Heathrow on British Airways.
