From catching a glimpse of the big five on safari to relaxing in a boutique hideaway, before ending it in the big city of Cape Town, this luxury holiday leaves nothing behind and will create memories to last a life time. And one of the things which South Africa does best is the smaller, more personalised hotel, away from the crowds but close to the action - and this itinerary has been created to showcase such properties.
Accommodation includes: Woodbury Lodge, Hog Hollow Country Lodge, Belvidere Manor, River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa and Cape Cadogan
Depart London Heathrow on the overnight flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival, you connect with your onward flight to Port Elizabeth where you collect your hire car and drive to the Amakhala Game Reserve. You spend the next three nights at Woodbury Lodge, a lovely property hidden deep in the bush in this malaria free area. This is the perfect base from which to enjoy game drives, river cruises & bush walks.
Today you leave the reserve and make your way along the Garden Route and to Plettenberg Bay, where you spend the next two nights at Hog Hollow Country Lodge. This tranquil hideaway hidden on a private nature reserve, yet just minutes from the beach and the many attractions of the Garden Route provides a perfect place to relax or to get out and explore the surrounding area.
Knysna is the next stop, spending two nights at the Belvidere Manor, situated on the west shore of the Knysna lagoon. This charming collection of Cape-style cottages offers a great South African welcome, and wonderful hospitality. Knysna is a nature lover’s heaven, and there is much to see and do in this incredible stop along the Garden Route. Adventure and sport abound, shopping and gourmet delights will not disappoint - be sure to leave room to try the unique Knysna oyster.
Today you set off for Stellenbosch in the renowned Cape Wine Region where you stay three nights at the historic River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa. Set in the heart of Stellenbosch and within walking distance to the town centre with its abundance of restaurants, curio shops and art galleries, River Manor is South Africa’s second oldest settlement and houses stylish guestrooms, spacious gardens, two swimming pools and a spa.
Drive to Cape Town to stay for three nights at the Cape Cadogan a beautifully-restored farmhouse in a shaded avenue, now offering delightful guest accommodation close to the city centre. A wide variety of boutiques, restaurants and bars are all within easy walking distance, and there are also free daily scheduled Waterfront transfers should you wish to go further afield.
Make your way to Cape Town Airport, arriving in good time to drop off your hire car and check in for your scheduled overnight flight to the UK.
